How many treatments are recommended?
In general, a course of 3 treatments, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart is recommended. However, this depends on the client and their skin's needs.
Is there much downtime?
In most cases, the skin will be red for 24 to 48 hours after the treatment.During this time it may also feel tight and dry, almost like a mild sunburn.
What microneedling device is used in your clinic?
Exceed by Amiea Med. The world's first and only double FDA-cleared device for acne scars and wrinkles.
Is the treatment painful?
No, the treatment isn't painful. Slight sensitivity may be felt on the forehead, tip of the nose and upper lip, but a numbing cream is applied before the treatment to ensure the client's comfort.
Can I wear makeup after the treatment?
On the day of the treatment, makeup is best avoided to reduce the risk of infection. Makeup can be applied the morning after the treatment. Mineral makeup is best, but not mandatory. Application with clean fingertips is advised.
Do I need to follow a specific skincare routine after the treatment?
Yes. I provide you with a specific 'aftercare pack', which consists of a cleanser, moisturiser and SPF to be used for the first 3 days post-treatment.
Any post-care instructions?
When will I see the results?
Once healed, your skin will appear brighter and fresher. If you're a makeup wearer, you will notice that your foundation glides on easier, looks better and stays on longer. The full effects of the treatment will be visible approximately 9 months after the last treatment.
